What is your favorite food and wine pairing?
My favorite pairing is spicy tuna on crispy rice with a Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir.
If you had unexpected guests coming in an hour, what is your go to meal? 
I am not much of a cook, so whether it is last minute or planned, my go to for hosting guests is order-in sushi. It is easy and delicious!
What are the favorite places you have visited?
Traveling all over Burgundy and meeting winemakers working the region was one of the most treasured and spectacular experiences.
What is the favorite wine you produced? 
My first love is Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir and under my LaRue label I make three (Rice-Spivak, Emmaline Ann and Coastlands) so choosing one would be a bit like favoring one kid over the other.


What woman has inspired you? 
My great-grandmother, Veona LaRue Newell for whom my label is named after. She was a woman who lived through the Depression while raising four children. She’s inspiring in that she never let a thing get her down and remained witty and sharp as a tack even at 97 years old.
