What is your favorite food and wine pairing?
Oysters with bubbles, a beautiful brebis (my favorite cheese) with our RARECAT Old Toll Road Hillside Cabernet, fois gras with Sauterne and anything with cepes sauted in olive oil with garlic and parsley eating straight from the hot frying pan.
If you had unexpected guests coming in an hour, what is your go to meal?
Rotisserie herb-crusted chicken over root vegetables. I love menus that allow me to spend time with my guests.
What are the favorite places you have visited?
I have spent most of my life traveling to and from Bordeaux, France. France is a part of me but I also love traveling to Spain, Italy, Istanbul, Switzerland, Lake Tahoe and any place from the perspective of a catamaran.
What is the favorite wine you produced? RARECAT Old Toll Road Cabernet - I love the elegant, fresh balance and rich aromatics. The fruit comes from a hillside vineyard in Calistoga we pain-stakingly planted and have nurtured.
What woman has inspired you?
Eleanor Roosevelt for her tireless work for others; Eleanor of Aquitaine - the first lady of wine; my Grandma for teaching me the love of cooking and my Mom - a beautiful entertainer who I miss.
